Are You Satisfied With Your Medicare Advantage Plan?

January 19, 2018 | Todd Lewison

Are you satisfied with your Medicare Advantage plan? If not, there may be other plan options available, you have until February 14th, 2018 to make a switch.

Remind me…what is a MADP Plan?

A Medicare Advantage Plan (also known as Medicare Part C) usually includes a drug plan for prescription drug coverage. For details, check out our full breakdown of Medicare plans.

Why would I want to change my plan?

There are several factors in which you would want to change your plan. Here are a few examples.

  • Your Doctor is not in network
  • Your medications are not covered
  • Are you able to travel?

Please reach out to us if you need help deciding what to do.

What can I do?

As per the Medicare.gov site:

  • If you’re in a Medicare Advantage Plan, you can leave your plan and switch to Original Medicare.
  • If you switch to Original Medicare during this period, you’ll have until February 14 to also join a Medicare Prescription Drug Plan to add drug coverage. Your coverage will begin the first day of the month after the plan gets your enrollment form.

What can’t I do?

As per the Medicare.gov site:

  • Switch from Original Medicare to a Medicare Advantage Plan.
  • Switch from one Medicare Advantage Plan to another.
  • Switch from one Medicare Prescription Drug Plan to another.
  • Join, switch, or drop a Medicare Medical Savings Account (MSA) Plan.

Still confused? We’re here to help! Let’s set up a time to chat.
