What is an Insurance Broker and Why Would I Use One?

October 23, 2019 | Tom Peterson

What is an Insurance Broker?

An insurance broker matches you with the insurance that fits your needs. The insurance broker will find the best coverage based on your budget and will make impartial recommendations based on your insurance. They will also explain parts of your policy or take note of things that you may not have considered. Some brokers also specialize in certain products or types of insurance and may even provide additional services. At Twin City Underwriters, our insurance brokers specialize in Medicare Advantage Plans and Supplement Plans and we offer additional services, like free Medicare workshops in and around the Twin Cities.

Why Would I Use an Insurance Broker?

Insurance policies can be confusing and intimidating if you try to figure them out on your own! Insurance brokers are there to help you choose an insurance plan, review insurance plan details and coverage, and help you with signing up for an insurance plan. At Twin City Underwriters, you can meet one-on-one with one of our insurance brokers and our broker can make insurance plan recommendations and can help you sign up for an insurance plan!

Is it Expensive to use an Insurance Broker?

The good news is that using an insurance broker can actually help you save money. In many cases, if you use an insurance broker, it will cost less in the long run because brokers are well versed in the world of insurance and can find and negotiate competitively priced insurance premiums for you. An insurance broker is there for you to act on your behalf and find an insurance plan that is the best option for your situation.

How Can the Insurance Brokers at Twin City Underwriters Help Me?

Our insurance brokers at Twin City Underwriters devote themselves to helping clients navigate the tricky landscape of health coverage. Our insurance brokers find the insurance plan that best suits you, can assist you in signing up for a plan, and can meet with you for annual reviews to discuss how your plan is working. When we are looking for a plan that would best fit your specific needs, our brokers can identify the factors ( like location, travel plans, and clinics of choice) that makes one plan a better fit than another plan.

Do you need help signing up for an insurance plan? Would you like to switch to a new insurance plan? Schedule a one-on-one meeting with one of our insurance brokers to get your insurance questions answered!
